Eliza Epps is an actor and singer based in New York City. Eliza’s academic parents were shocked to find that they accidentally gave birth to an orange, four pound creative type instead of the future spelling bee champion they were expecting. (Who needs self tanner when you have Jaundice?) Eliza has loved attention since the day of her birth and fell in love with acting at age four when she realized that she could get a whole lot of that attention onstage.
Luckily, this longing for the world’s adoration blossomed into a genuine love of the craft.
At 17, she studied at the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts and became obsessed with New York City and its abundance of public transportation and walkable commutes (because it is better and safer for everyone if she is not behind the wheel of a car.)
Fast forward to present day, and Eliza is still crazy about living in the city, where she recently graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama. During her time at NYU, Eliza studied at the Meisner Studio, Atlantic Acting School, and Stonestreet Studios. As someone who was very used to playing the ingenue, she was a little hesitant at first when her professors told her that she could indeed play more than that, but now after a few years of playing Type A stage managers and serial killers, she has become quite comfy as a character actor.
When she is not acting, Eliza can usually be found purchasing hardcover mystery novels that she will never get around to reading or getting starstruck by dogs on the street.
